These dvds are SUPER. I have burned over 700 of them with only 1 bad disk! They are rated 6x, but I tested these discs at different burn speeds, and using a Lite-On 20x burner (with Overspeed and Hypertuning enabled)I burn these at 8x with near perfect quality (99.7% rating from DVDinfoPro 4.79 scanning them at 8x / high accuracy)- much better burn results than at 4x or 6x. My Pioneer 16x burner does the same. I recommend to try one at 8x in your burner as well, assuming you have a speedy up-to-date computer. Most advice on the internet basically states "the slower the burn speed, the better the quality burn" and recommends burning at 4x, but that is simply not the case, especially with dual layer dvds. After a poor quality burn, I usually try a burn at increased speed, and if that doesnt get a better result THEN I start lowering the speed until it meets expectations.
However, you cannot simply just trust the brand name Verbatim. These purple tinted 6x dvds are GREAT and manufactured in a different plant than the verbatim non-tinted silver 8x dvds with the speed marked on them. If you buy the 8x dual layers, you will sorely regret it. They fail miserably at 8x, still have too many errors at 6x, smaller errors at 4x (but stills too bad to ensure data isnt corrupt)....the only way to get a good burn from those is to burn at 2.4x speed or get lucky with a 4x burn. Too bad we cant expect consistent product quality from a single brand name. I am currently waiting (for a week so far) for a reply from Verbatim about sending the 8x back to them for replacement. I will be buying these 6x from now on!

Lets just say these are worth the price. They work on every DL supporting drive with no problems. Even play great on my xbox 360 ;)

Couldn't be happier with these discs. The first brand I've found that hasn't failed more than succeeded. In fact, out of my first 40, not one coaster in the box. I will never buy any other brand of DL media again.
