The Good. The case hubs are good, Easy to insert and extract and holds discs firmly. The tray hubs are less so. Trays hold discs firmly and are easy to extract, but insertion can be difficult and will take practice.
A few Cautions. The cases come somewhat untidy. Be sure to brush them free of any plastic shavings before use. Also, there is substantial wood alcohol odor that takes a few days to dissipate (open the cases to vent them). Expect a few cosmetic indentations on the clear plastic covering the cases - nothing too serious though.
The Bad. Poor quality control. Dimensional control of the trays is lower than that of the cases. This helps explain the difficulty one has inserting the discs into the trays. Expect a few cases to have a factory defect that may prevent you from using the case as originally intended. 2 out of 20 of my cases had such defects. One would not latch closed properly, and the other had a dangling tray from a broken bracket in the tray assembly. However, both of the cases are serviceable, and I found uses for them. Also, the trays have standard dimensions, so the trays will fit into any other standard case. That way you can swap a standard single tray with one of these 2 disc trays in any other standard case. Defects aside, these are very fine cases at this price point, but the defect rate most certainly can not be classified as “rare” as the seller claims in their return policy.
